### I'm not an experienced pker and I rarely do it. In fact this didn't
### start out as a pk run, Takjas asked for someone to come along for about
### 30 minutes of xp. I'm close to leveling so I went. After some xp
### he decides he wants to pk and heads down to dunland area. He did
### ask if I was familiar with the areas, and I said that I'm fairly
### familiar with them. Good enough to usually get away but not always :)
### Anyway, we had just killed 2 of three demon wolves, and we left the
### third on awful. That was Takjas' instruction and I just went along
### with it because I didn't understand at the time what he was doing.
### The following took about 2 seconds to happen which I viewed though
### my 150ms link. Not a bad link for US, but obviously not a Euro link.
### One more thing, when the darkies enter, I was in the process of typing
### 'nod' and when I saw the BN, I immediately hit my key bound to cast
### 'lightn' *man*. That's why the text looks a bit funny at first.

### I made 2 mistakes obvious to me, 1) I spammed lightning bolt. But
### Takjas had told me about 5 minutes earlier that if we encounter
### darkies to target to BN so he does doesn't eat too many spells.
### And 2) I didn't have fresh armour, because it dropped too fast.
### My question is this: Is this normal for pk? Is it normal for the buffer
### to flee on the first hit? If he's solo then I can see it, but when he
### left, I had no chance, regardless of link. I also had 6 unlucky PANIC!s

Keep armour fresh, minimum of 14 wil for a caster and I dont really have any problems eating spell damage. Now if I could just a find a way to remove the wussiness of followers or people in the area I would be golden. |

| 2004/04/14 04:00, Vegas: | | | Fresh armour, a few more pracs in endurance to raise those 154 hps to around 170-180 would be helpful, and a buff that won't flee and you'll live a LOT longer! I think the Armour spell was what really raped you though. It's more than possible to eat a bash, bolt and 2fballs and live...low hps none the less, but still able to spam away for another day! (Although Vegas has nearly 190hps and slightly higher wil) |

| 2004/04/17 20:05, Solymir: | | | Gideon, you should make a cancel key macro. For JMC the #br command works pretty well, its as if you hit the enter key, for cancelling spells. As soon as you saw Jaanor approach, you should have cancelled both bolts and tapped flee. When you are bashed, initially it puts you into the sitting position. It drops your dodge bonus and makes is much more difficult to flee. Also, if the room only has one or two exits, you may not have been failing flees, but instead fleeing directions where there are no exits. Bare in mind that you did have an old armour spell, and you should refresh it about once every 10 minutes or so whether or not you think it needs it. |
