# As you can see I totally expected the flee but it never even tried after bash was over.
# Is that a bug?
Very nice, I would like to see this log in the 'notables' section!

HiHi?

2004/05/14 02:07, Viktor:
That's new bash ;P (that is not thaaaaat new anymore) hehehehe...

2004/05/14 02:12, Precious:
No, I'm not confused why I didn't flee out of bash. I understand that part. I don't understand why I no longer try to flee when bash is over. I thought once I try to flee in a fight it continues to try until it works or I die.

2004/05/14 02:33, Barzalak:
Nono, the worst thing you can do, is to type dirs when you are bashed, this will make you stop fleeing, and alot of spam like this:

!O W HP:Bad Move:Tired *Ziggin the Dwarf*:Hurt>d
No way! You are fighting for your life!

Will appear! Not smart, type down Instant when you enter room rather! :)

2004/05/14 02:47, Precious:
So prespamming dirs will turn off flee? Never heard of that. As a matter of fact I always do it this way. On American link I can't wait until I see myself enter the room to spam dirs, it's too late at that point.

2004/05/14 03:03, Vrool:
You were in a room with one exit and being a troll with low dex makes it hard for you to flee. After you recovered from bash you died very fast but it seems as a while since you were spamming direction. Its just bad luck really, next time don't eat bash with pukes, flee come back in.. Sorry mate.

2004/05/14 03:49, Petrel:
This is interesting.... I don't know why other commands would turn off the flee command, but I'll experiment with it. Anyway, you could do 'cha wimpy 500' or something, no? That wouldn't cut out after the bash, I bet.

2004/05/14 04:45, Precious:
Vrool: Look at the number of times I tried to flee after the bash? (I give you a hint, its 0). I was in there for a bit after the bash, plenty of time for flee to go in.

Petrel: Your right and that is what I will do next time. I don't have that alias (alias max change wimpy 1000) on troll because if you turn on a wimpy and forget to turn it off you just might get fled into sun.

2004/05/14 06:57, Urogh:
I noticed that 'flee' seems not to stack like bash (when bashed). Feels like only wimpy-flee helps..

2004/05/14 07:24, Gamla:
Other commands do not 'cancel the flee', except for maybe 'change wimpy 0'...
Seems like you died within a second after recovering, and I'll have to agree with Vrool...
But things like these really annoy me when I play:
Eladamri the Noldorin Elf* utters the words 'eugszr zzur'
*Eladamri the Noldorin Elf* dissolves your evil presence.
Wheres the '... begins some strange incantations...'?
This keyboard is damn annoying!

2004/05/14 08:51, Evan:
>Wimpy: 0.
Bad idea.

2004/05/14 09:07, Luke:
yeah
BIGINNING OF CASTING OFFENSE SPELL BY ENEMY SHOULD BE ALWAYS SEEN
i don't get it how come noone fixed this SO long
read this please Petrel :P

2004/05/14 09:14, Gamla:
Damn, Luke! What are you eating?:P

2004/05/14 12:21, Vrool:
Again, the messages got lost in the spam reduction mode the same way as you didn't see the offensive spell.

2004/05/14 19:33, Precious:
Evan: Having a wimpy as a troll is always dangerous. In chief room at ohurk I am just 3 bad flees away from the sun and if I have a wimpy set I could get fled right into the sun before I could even turn it off.

2004/05/15 01:31, Aschit:
Well, if you type 'flee' again when you are over your wimpy, doesn't it stop the fleeing attempts? That doesn't seem to be the case here though, unless it's been edited.

2004/05/15 02:00, Precious:
I didn't edit anything in the log since it is part of a bug report. I assume that is the procedure.

2004/05/15 12:20, Polly:
Ach? If you press ENTER without entering any commands at all, you cancel a manually entered flee, not autowimpy though. I like that feature.

2004/05/15 12:29, Gamla:
Nooooo! Only thing that cancels your flees are cha wi 0!

2004/05/15 23:30, Solymir:
flee off also cancels your fleeting attempts. But you didnt type that-
What happened here is that you spammed down- and the mud made you pay for it. If you are not fleeing by wimpy, fleeing during a bash, low dex or not- you are fleeing into walls or dirs that you cannot actually go. If you hit flee BEFORE you are bashed, you get fleeting attempts while you are bashed, they very much resemble the wimpy-fleeing. Also I do think they interfere with each other- But thats another story. If you enter flee -After- you have been bashed, then its the first thing you do when you recover senses. You make regular, non-bashed fleeting attempts. Now what I usually do is I set wimpy while I am bashed, and I type flee just once. I Play an american link as well, and I am telling you- you can go down the instant you flee without getting hit. Your problem is, you arent reading everything. You are spamming, blinded by the quickness of the mud's output, and it got you killed!

I do not think this is a bug. But I garuntee there could be some changes to the flee system that would stop this sort of questionable nonsense.

2004/05/16 03:18, Precious:
Solymir: I wasn't blindly spamming, I was pretyping d for when the flee kicks me out to go down. I did it at regular intervals so hopefully it would arrive at the mud the instand my character has moved to the next room. When my character moves a room it take 150 ms for me to see/know it in any way. It then takes about 100 ms to react (hit d button) and another 150 ms for the command to arrive. Thats 400ms. Thats almost 2 mud rounds (250 ms a piece). I will almost surely be hit before my d command goes in if I wait for the flee to actually happen. You just have to prespam if your not on a sub 100ms link.
