Hmmm, I take exception to all other pukes sucked. I enter with a damn ssm smiting. Now, I know how hard those things rock....(NOT) And I'm lev 23...which is cool, 350 hps. I think I did very well :) Thajuric did rock, played it to the end, and naz almost died, even with all the scrolls. Varris had to go and dt himself, or might been different story later on too. Anyway, was fun fight, I enjoyed it. :) Maybe a little lopsided, but had 2 fairly low levs there, and Vitty pretty noob like in pk, anyway 4 vs 2 to start, but Thajuric had narr'd bn was around, so 4 vs 3 with 2 iffy wars, like I said, was fun. Nice job Naz, you rock as usual, always fun to fight ya ;)

Scouts work perfectly well with their sneak shoot and pierce in these kinds of fights... having a 300 hp (or 280 hps, since someone surely will comment on how wrong I am) damage weapon as well is just silly.

It's a game mechanic I strongly dislike, the fights scout vs. whatever are even without a power skill like that.

As for Lerian's dispels. They're fairly well balanced... Do you know how much mana I have after 4 quickdispels? I can at most cast 5 quickdispels (at high age, possibly 6) and then I'm frozen. Meaning if whatever I was fighting had 1 scroll or got a few cures in, or I had to cure myself... I'm toast.

Have any idea how many arrows and stabs a scout can shoot/make in a row?

i am aware of how much mana you have after that. but you can do 400 dam in one bash - he can do 300 with stab in same time. and shooting? thief wielding bow so goddman vulnerable. stop casting and hit him to death. while you during spellcasting still have your db and pb he only has db and somecrapass pb.

thieves backstabs can be easly avoided just as your quickdispels, but if your target has slow link or fails some flees he is dead, but backstab target can move away from backstabs even with slow link. if you have bad lag you are dead in either way. people whine about casters not noticing that they were linkless and casters answer with - look how fast you died. and look how fast wilhem died to you when you were with francis. my warrior escaped after 4 quickdispels in one bash on 20 hps. so you dislike game mechanics. i also dislike them sometimes. especially when i have some cool equal fight and few powernukers show up who can each kill 2-3 orcs for their mana. but i dont whine about thieves stabbing and clerics dispelling and mages using call lightning. and i would be lot happier if others wouldnt do that either.

Please don't pick on all stabbers. Orc stabbers are evil and dangerous. Little hobbits with little knives are relatively harmless. But anyway, what I want to know is, how do you get to be a smiting stabber? If I could draw a warsword and start landing 50 hit smites, I would be slightly more dangerous. How much do you have to practice with two-handed weapons for that kind of effect?

As for whether a battle is 'lopsided', I think this shows that you have to do more than count heads to know whether the battle is lopsided. You have to count levels and rocks and scrolls and warswords as well. But that isn't practical in advance, so you just have to bring whoever is available and hope it's enough.

Scouts are just as much grief as casters. Quickdispel on my lvl 70 orc does 150 dmg or so, great fun :p One failed flee -150 hps and bashtrap is always rip now with new flee.

Sorry Luke, but if there is an overpowered class in this game, it's the warrior. Clerics are dangerous only when protected by 2+ warriors, otherwise they are free xp kinda. Imagine you are blocked 1 vs 1 in some closable. What would be your choice of classes which would give you the best chances for victory? My choice would be warrior vs cleric without any doubt.

warriors are supposed as that, ofcourse clerics don't work too good solo, but when is someone bashed (by warrior) they can do insane damage, and clerics is what makes pukes/darkies so extremly unbalanced

Well Aerie, it's indeed not too hard in Rivendell when all the spells are 2x as fast (or more?).
Try that in neutral (or even worse) in evil zone vs orcs/trolls... :-)

And I don't think it's extremely unbalanced towards whitie side really. The vulnerability of the clerics makes up for their indeed remarkable support abilities.
Also if there is a disbalance, it's in the number of potential kills, Orcs have it much easier in this sense. And Zorcs even easier. Therefore (and not only from this reason) Orcs can xp faster and thus become high level fast, and you surely know how much does level affect PK, don't you?

The fact that orc shamans (without a good weaponskill) suck, is hardly a reason to claim clerics rock.

I don't see my mages as superpowerful, because I don't compare them with bns and shamans. Sure I can win a fight vs so badly pracced shaman, but that doesn't mean my char rock.

You can reverse it and say clerics suck, because a lvl 25 cleric always gets beaten by Smrtihlav type chars.

As I said... it's a silly comparison.

Not sure just how vulnerable they really are. sure they cant store word, but I think it'd be much harder to kill a sanced, healing cleric in a couple rooms than a mage, and if that cleric can land a blind on you, you can be in some serious trouble.

Well, 2.5 Lerian's quick dispells kills a BN anytime, but you cant backstab a BN once you are seen :)
It doesnt look unbalanced for me but i cant talk, i dont play scout.
And i have more scouts in trophy than clerics so, for me, i wish they never change scouts.

Well the point is a bn vs. a cleric in a closed area should be fairly even. A few quick burns och even quick bolts (if bn got good enough link) will take cleric's armour down without him being able to do anything with his slower spells... and then a couple of fireballs to finish it off. Sure the cleric might get off a few dispels and win the fight, but it sure as hell is not a 100% win. (I'm talking about an ordinary cleric here... not lvl 70+ with maxattack)

Now a scout vs. a caster in a closed area is usually a safe win for the scout, sneak shooting takes down the caster without him being able to do much.

The problem is the scout has a 300 hp weapon on top of the usual shooting... even though he probably wins the fight anyways.
