I Stumble on a good plan

I just logged Malus for first time in a few days. Died in a nice 1 vs 1 with Bogger in moria and
Endur the lame-ass knew i died and easily rekilled me in redhorn going back to check eq. He warlorded
of it and i got Mandos. But ill get him eventually! Anyway, i got myself some basics and went s abr.

fun but still! A good example how a plan and some luck (blink!) can beat strenght

Thanks to you for the nice fight too! When I found you in open I was ready to just leave, no point fighting zaug sneaker in the open, but then I thought 'ah, its malus, he will fight somewhere!' so I kept following. Bad move ;)

In illusionist I had 0 moves due to arach, and autowimpy fled me down after second stab, I really didn't want to go down there, since I never even knew board existed :P Just wanted to try spamclose some :(

Basically you rocked me all the way, and I should know better than to chase you when you got a plan! Tons of fun though, and I learned a couple things :D

Haha yeah right, I just decided to lay down and go to sleep when Malus walked down. Of course I had sleep flag you idiots.

But yes Notch, I know, and I tried it earlier, tried it there, but it never worked out. The whole fight was like, e;u, move east, the board is closed from the other side, alas you cannot go that way message. Hit *orc*, Malus flees west, they aren't here message. E;open board, move east and get sleepy message, then hit by spiders again, close stone;open board, flee, brigand opens the stone, flee west, etc etc etc.

Nothing going right, all the way up to the point where I didn't reset wimpy and autofled down at bad/bad with no mobs and doors to close, which was the final fuckup.

Sad to insult the log anyway, cos whether you think I was freexp or no, was still ballsy stab at the end, wounded scout vs fine warrior, was still great use of the area too.

Only way to avoid sleep in that situatoin is to stay fighting, and Malus made sure he didn't do that.

Notch - You can see that Stumbles falls asleep in the middle of combat for a second. As far as I know, the only way this is possible is if you have the 'sleep flag' active. Otherwise it will just give you the mesasge that your fighting and can't sleep now. Blaming Stumbles for this makes about as much sense as blaming someone who was just blinded for not attacking.

Also, I'm no expert but as far as I know it is legal to have a door name reminder pop up based on the room name as long as the client does not automaticly open the door and/or set an alias to open the door.

And i dont know myself, but Faint always told me that some god, whoever it was, told him it was legal. I know he checked around. going by the rules, it's illegal to use triggers in pk which give an unfair advantage, and having something set your door varible by looking at it falls under that section of the rules iirc.

Besides, we've had people get punished for ZBLAM triggers, so it wouldn't be too much of a shock if this resulted in one too.

The rule on actions used to say that if it trips off a human action it's fine. Thus a 'look up' doorsetter was ok, and a 'go up' bump doorsetter wasn't.

What's sad is faint doesn't know how to hide it like most of the others!

I think that demotion for zblam trigger was crap btw. Everyone had it, everyone thought it was legal, maybe a warning and a justice post warning people would've been better. Although the justice post we did get seemed to indicate that the demotion was a bit to do with unproven illegal actions, so they jumped on the one that they could actually prove.

Still, it's crap to have such uncertainty in what constitutes illegal actions, then demote people when they cross the hazy line. Just a warning, and a justice post on the specific instance might be a better idea....

It would be nice to find out if this is legal without anyone getting in shit for using it.

Going into closed exit with autoseting exitname is same thing.

But seting exit by command 'look east' is not blind spaming and needs human interaction yet.

And In substitution you can have what you want :)

To me, a doortrigger/action is something that is set without you doing anything! for example, i know people who never will be caught for it but have actions to set doors on roomnames, ad they use these only in traps and fights, so they always have the right doortargets.

THAT is cheating. but doing something to get doortarget, weather it is doing an alias or looking in that dir, will never be illegal...unless some1 high tells me otherwise

For those of you arguing about actions and subs related to doors, review your news and rules.

It has been made clear by management that any specific action prior to the opening of the door, not directly related to moving in that direction, MAY be used to set a door alias. I.E. looking west and auto-setting door alias is legal. 'Bumping into' a door and opening it, is NOT legal. 'Bumping into' a door and setting alias to open door IS legal... etc.
Anyone who has taken the time to map arda and provide subs for exits is certainly allowed to do so. Just as anyone who has taken the time to map arda and has the map in front of them is allowed to use it.
Obviously from MOM and the various other maps available, this is not a situation where one needs to do the work him/herself.

I could be wrong, Notch, but I think the ONLY way to fall asleep DURING combat, (aka, while engaged with an enemy) is the sleep flag. When I had arachnia in the past I'm pretty sure that the first times it tried to sleep me while I was fighting it told me that I was unable to do so while fighting as if your normaly typed 'sleep' during combat. Further allong the course of the poison it would make me sleep even when fighting. Though, as in the log, the person usualy quickly wakes to the next unless the enemy is quick on the flee so its not always easy to notice.

Yeah Notch, I did wake up the first few times I fell asleep, and guess what? It turned out to be a bad idea, cos Malus didn't come in and stab me until I finally got the flag, which meant I fell asleep again midfight, thus eating 2 stabs.

I should have just laid down and gone to sleep long before I got flag, since with 0 moves and arachnia, I was going to eat at least one stab anyway. Hard to volunteer for that though.

Piccolo, AS I SAID - Go argue with Staer, he said it's illegal, I'm not making this up on my own. Your 'gods' might have easily be unaware of this themselves too. I see so many people here suddenly claiming that 'it's legal! it's legal!!'. Well, what's the point of that claim.. (unless Staer himself within last few weeks said so)?
