I have a few actions that I use during xping, which is what I use this character for mostly. But whenever I pk, they are disabled. In fact the whole reason for my post about Justice 88 was to figure out if I needed to add my ZBLAM action to my disable list. Staer's and Namo's posts seem to contradict and I was asking for more info.
The only things that are left are eat/drink actions and actions that do subs. PowTTY has so few available key bindings that I have to reload another script that replaces xp bindings with pk bindings, and it also disables those actions. But because this is an xp character, my default script loads those actions, which is why they were present right after I relogged. Besides, bump door actions are much, much slower than open exit alias.
Ågran, I think it's just that BN fballs suck. And I'm sure a fresh armour spell can out last my 140 HPs.
Rootsikunn, every other offensive spell will interrupt spell casting. I had never seen this happen before. And yes I'm definitely a newbie, so you are welcome to say it as many times as you need to to make yourself feel better. |

Erm.. in what way would a bump action be slower than an alias? Both are one key pressed... Maybe if you pretype a long row of dirs, with dirs after the exit too, an alias would work slighty faster.
The difference is you don't have to worry about an extra key for exits, and it will work even if you don't know the exit is coming etc, (like it would've been in this log if the exit wasn't delayed).
(the real question is of course, if actions are so much slower, why would you have them in the first place?) |

offensive spells need a target, when you engaged you can cast on it. In this case he was already casting, casting a fireball is like shooting a bazooka, even if you get blinded you wil hit your target. |

In addition, with an alias I don't even have to know the door name - the keyword 'exit' suffices. And lastly, if you're pking, a portion of that time is spent engaged. The bump door action is useless while you're engaged. Besides being against the rules, the conditions of pk actually dictate that this type of action is inefficient and nearly useless.
As for why use during xping? Because of the monotony of xping. Not everything about xping is boring, infact far from it. But a few repetitious acts, i.e. eating/drinking, ZLBAM, etc., can be taken care of by your client. |

90ms to send the dir to the server (a ping counts both ways), 90ms to get it back, 90ms to send command back.
Since you can only get through one command every 250ms you lose a baffling 20 ms on an action.
A bump action is for sure an advantage. On the other hand you can argue how much of an advantage. |

There are simply too many things you need to control. Close? Open? Walk through? Engaged/not engaged? Hidden/visible? Spam/slowspam/just once? etc. etc. While it would be possible to write some advanced script to fit your needs, it's just simpler to do it manually.
I would be happy if only actions for track, follow, hit and a few more would be illegal.
But saying a bump action isn't an advantage at all is a bit naive. |

Which is exactly my point. They aren't helpful, and can often get you killed in pk. They are merely a convenience in xp for the lazy (moi!). |
