Yeah on second thought maybe it has nothing to do with pracs.. Backstab is broken, escape is totally bust, the scoutclass is completely nuked.

I never considered scouts powerful, even back in the day. I agree with the removal of sneak-bonus-hit-damage on non-piercing weapons but that's about it. I can live the current armour system, which pretty much only has an impact on scouts (and a huge impact at that).

But the rest of the changes, e.g. nosneak are fucked UP.

edit: don't read too much into this log, I just won because forek failed a lot of flees.

The only thing broken about backstab is that it does 300~ damage to players at a certain level. I'd rather see backstab be slightly faster and reduced to like 150 damage and let them have sneak-hit bonus back. I can not remember any scouts failing backstabs on any of my chars.

Once you drop backstab below superb it really becomes noticeable. Combos are like a tightrope act. You can do one prac too many into mage stuffs and your stab will fall right off. What I did was prac my rogue stuffs I needed. Then I started pracing the mage stuffs I wanted and every few pracs or so I would rest in the mage trainer room so I could see my prac levels. Once I saw my stab/sneak drop to excellent I would stop the mage stuff and go back and pump one or two more into whatever rogue stuff I could. As long as you walk that line your stab shouldn't suck too much versus mobs and for pk it works just fine. When you guys say backstab sux I fail it all the time....where are you trying these stabs and on what mobs? Think about the room and the mobs you are trying on. Any guard room (try stabbing ep guards at ent...its insanely hard), any indoor area, any mobs with great per (like troll mobs with their super noses) is going to be hard.

Same thing goes for staying allive in general. If all you want to do is stay allive, you have to be pretty fucking dumb to die.
always bash/break exits, have wimpy to -100 from full maximum. Run if any enemyforce is around. Avvoid moving into bends. Always have antidote available. Follow the thoughtpattern of Elestir and you can't die(but you can't possibly have any pk fun either)

I agree. The difference being that 'living on the edge' fighting on low hps, such as you or Eiluvial are known to play, is very much fun. Resting or not revealing on 150hps (this is my point -- who does this?) is not, unless I guess you get the occasional adrenaline kick from luckily sensing stabs. It's just stupid, or lazy.

But if you know superiour group is around, it is indeed good precaution to avoid bends, and if you know poisoner is around, it's good precaution to carry antidote. If you are too lazy to bother about those, you just have to take the risk of ending in potentially losing situation and then try convince yourself how fun it was. But you can always minimize the risk by resorting to more safe strategies, such as staying in permanent movement, and looking only for semi-harmless xpers (many so called experienced-pkers resort to that). Only way you can die then is a trap, and nowadays almost no1 bothers spending hours trapping, as there is just too few pkers to make it worth it. All you have to do then is to try convince yourself how skilled pker you are defeating those xpers.

That said he does seem to have a valid point ... it is apparent to me that ER has enough pkwhiners to keep themselves entertained. I can count at least five ... that is enough for several combinations of 'fair' 2v2 circlejerks to keep each other amused for a while. However they never seem to find one another on opposite sides and, in the rare occasions that they do, they somehow manage, for the most part, to avoid each other.
