Is this a better log if he didn't know gates were closed?.. Is the only thing that makes a good log that he took a risk doing it or not?.. :)

2002/12/26 18:16, Lochdale:
Entering when the gates will be closed isn't brave its just stupid. Again, if he had been spotted and gotten caught up in the spam it might have turned very ugly.

2002/12/26 18:37, Kaool:  Rated: Superb
There is a fine line between bravery and stupidity, but I agree they worked under the assumption the gates were open .. but they did ask each other during the raid if gates were open IIRC

2002/12/26 18:37, Cagim:Rated: Superb
Ew, he did not know about the gates u boobs, the plan was to stab and reenter coach not to run out gates.

2002/12/26 19:45, Drakmar:
Couldnt pukes with tickets enter coach and kill them though?

2002/12/26 19:46, Alantir:Rated: Superb
Can't fight in coach...

2002/12/26 19:59, Lochdale:
There is enough time to leave coach, got to sppi, stab (with stab delay)and then get back into the coach with angry mobs? That would be some trick.

2002/12/26 20:02, Fredde:
sure lochdale. ive never ran from noc straight to rivendell. especially not from chudwicki since i always thought he was the wimpiest player ever before i even knew it was you. you could always ask david or pEdvard about the bashtrapping thingy since they told it to me after you narrated about it.

you dont belive modem swedes have 500 ms? well who blame you, we swedes are after all the ppl living in the land of the golden link. no lagg! no packet loss, no link above 10 ms and never link freeze.

2002/12/26 20:02, Trample:Rated: Good
So what does happen if its possible for puke and darkie to enter coach? Hmmmm

2002/12/26 20:07, Alantir:Rated: Superb
It's a no-fight flagged room or so... says like 'You're surronded by a peaceful feeling.' or something when you try to hit. You'll just have to sit and chat until you can leave...

2002/12/26 21:23, Lochdale:
All relative Fredde, and you ran mate. As for bashtrap, you would never do anything like that right..cough cough. I know the coach absobs spells.

2002/12/26 21:24, Alantir:Rated: Superb
It's one powerful coach..

2002/12/26 21:27, Edvard:
Its all about link for you Lochdale, isnt it? Do you think that if you got to play a cpl months on a 45 ms link (like i do) you would totally dominate? :P

2002/12/26 23:03, Grimble:  Rated: Good
Oh no not the link argument again! All the fast linkers that say link doesn't matter - its only their insane amount of skill, superior gameknowledge, etc that makes them appear fast. Then you have the slow linkers who say they suck only because they have poor links. Oh yes then you get those who say 'I had a real bad link this one time and it didn't make a difference at all' even though it slipped their mind that all they did was narrate 'Whats up with this crappy lag?' and rented.

Link makes a difference. Maybe not a big difference between 150 ms and 45 ms, but definitely a huge difference between 300+ ms and 45 ms.

And 500-700 ms dialup from sweden? That is a bit hard to believe unless you are playing from an old Commodore 64 with a 1400 modem or something. That link may have been ok for pk when everyone else had 500 ms, but these days 500 ms will make you very dead very fast in pk. Following and spamming kill may work fine at 500 ms, but if you participate in solo pk vs players over level 25, 500 ms is totally worthless.

2002/12/26 23:11, Lochdale:
If I had a sub 50ms link I doubt I would dominate. In fact, I doubt I would even warlord. I would die a lot less and take a lot more chances though. Map knowledge and the ability to stay cool, to avoid panicking are also vital. While I have fairly good map knowledge I still panic far too quickly. One need only look at faster linked players who have played on a slower link to see that it does make a difference. Again, any argument to the contrary is intellectually untenable.

Is it possible to leave coach, stab and get back in time and enter?

2002/12/26 23:45, Fredde:
sure lochdale. just wondering how you know i ran rdell since you wouldent have left w from fork if even that. but as its an story made up ofcourse you know.

also tell me the time ive bashtrapped? tell me the time i CAN bashtrap solo while resting.

2002/12/26 23:49, Lochdale:
Fredde: I am not going to get into a he said/she said argument with you. I have no clue what you do which may say a lot. As for me not leaving west of fork...eh? At least base your comments in reality. Of course, I do appreciate how the weak mind works. When you lose on the issues, you hurl insults. You would make a stellar member of the Democratic party.

Even funnier log wooo hehehehehe...

2002/12/28 02:34, Fredde:
lochdale. i just cant understand how you claim >I< lost the argument. i know for a fact. that i NEVER ever ran noc -> rivendell because someone stabbed me. tho i do know Chudwicki Said before i knew it was you, that he dident dare to stab me outside crack because he/you thought i was gonna bashtrap, while resting. that was during the time i thought what an idiout chudwicki was, no offense but as i did not know who the player was and he was acting like a wimp etc etc, i did just not like him. i do got respect for you, do like you in some way even tho your an ass =P.

i know also know for a fact that before that. i had never ran noc -> rivendell because someone attacked me. and i think i dont have to explain to you that since i thought chudwicki was a bad player i did never ran noc -> rivendell because >he< stabbed me.

ive meet tons of enemyes at noc who Really kicked my ass without running anywhere instead of like 5-10 rooms from rubble.

and please dont say >I< hurl insults at anyone when I loose an argument. you cant deny that you often start throw insults on me or anyone else irl when you have nothing to say back. because you have made appologizes to me Tons of times for that.

2002/12/28 02:35, Fredde:
sorry for the spelling, iam drunk at the time =).

Cheers Mate!

2002/12/28 02:47, Edvard:
Why Fredde do u respect p(lochdale) anywaY? *shrug* He havent done anything to earn my respect so far. Probably the other way around too, but we know eachother only within the frames of MUME the game. And since he sucks and/or is a bloody wuss in the game (with or without a sucky link) i have a hard time respecting him. He's the kind of dude who just sits inside Monitor at fine 'scouting' Up while im standing there as puke. And yes, i am also friggin drunk RL, not that it explaions/makes up for anything =)... 2002/12/28 21:07, Gray:Rated: Superb
Actually, Rogon is right. We need 2 vote bars: skill and fun, and two different top's. Was this log fun? Hell yes. Involved much skill? Hmm, in Lonewolf's log there were at least gates closed :P

It's second time I suggest this idea. Maybe I need to post it on Argle for Axel to see it?

2002/12/28 23:33, Johannes:Rated: Good
I think it's fine if skill and fun go together in ratings, and if people really had a blast reading it, they can vote it top quality stuff for all I care.

I don't think this was a 'Superb' log though.

-Johannes the Other Voice of Reason.

2002/12/29 05:56, Rogon:
You don't say hasta? Would it be too much for me to expect you to understand that when i (or anyone else for that matter) expresses an opinion, it is from my point of view, based on my thoughts. It would, with time, get rather tedious and time consuming to always say 'in my opinion' before saying anything.

The argument that 'and if this ammount of people rate is good/superb it's prob not them who are wrong' suggests that there would actually be a right or wrong for the rating of a log (or whatnot). I feel sorry for you if you measure fun, quality or anything else by the response others gave it. Everyone else in the world can laugh at the joke, and it can still the completely pointless and boring, or i can have the laugh of a lifetime, while noone else smiles at all.

Did i just waste 5 minutes of my life? Not really, i was listening to a mylene farmer song while writing this, and that's never a waste of time! I feel sorry for those who bothered to read it though :)

2002/12/29 05:57, Rogon:
As a sidenote, i think votes would be more interesting if you always had to motivate why you voted like you did.

good rates, i post them for others to enjoy reading.

If you had a laugh reading this - good! thats why i posted it.

If you didn't find it fun - too bad, you wasted your time.

If you spent your time reading it thinking up reasons to justify your rating of it - Please don't bother.

I find it ironic that you are complaining about the fact this log made it into the top 50 at #2... This log made me laugh, I play scout and enjoy it, and even you once thought we need not have to justify our ratings ;)

An old log that I in my long absence has missed to read. Maybe to late to comment on but I just have to do it.

This is a very entertaining log wich has a great build up with the two orcs planing their deed. This is what i want logs to look like(even if the stab itself wasn't anything special and the place wasn't THAT supricing (try Fornost instead)).

Nothing strange with that. It depends on where in Sweden you play from and what generation of phone network they have in that area and the distance from Stockholm. When I play from a 56K modem at my parents hous in northern sweden, I get about 500-600 ms with some 10% packet loss. When i play from my house, close to Stockholm, I get 150 ms. 600 ms is not very fun to PK with but for exp it's ok. Also I don't find the 150 ms any worse then my old 30 ms at the university, I can play the same way with both links.

Lochdale; Nazgum was no way near the first one to attack bree from a coach nor stab somone at sppi. This has been done lots of times before Nazgum even started to play.

Haha, I always love watching bree stabbing orcs, just too funny to watch those guys die at sppi, nice job. And as far as link goes..it definately HELPS. When I can be spamming preentered dirs to fun, and a nice unde 50 mls guy passes me going my direct, then overshoots returning, and then passes me again...there isn't much you can do about it. But anyway! Good job.

Advice:  Let the above textbox do the line-wrapping and do only use Return/Newline to end or start a new paragraph. That way your comments will look nice! If you use long text-strings without spaces ( >50 characters), they will be cut to a decent size and info will get lost.
